Video infrastructure for every developer

What we do

Transcodely is a developer video platform with two products. Our transcoding API encodes video into your own storage — H.264, HEVC, VP9, AV1 with HLS, DASH, and MP4 output. Video Hosting is a turnkey layer on top: upload a file, we transcode it, store it, deliver it through a global CDN, and give you an embeddable player. Pick one or use both — usage-based pricing, no monthly fees.

We built two products because developers kept asking for two different things. Some already have S3 and CloudFront and just want reliable transcoding. Others want to stop thinking about video infrastructure entirely. Both are legitimate — so we offer both, on the same platform, at prices that scale with use.

Why we built this

AWS MediaConvert charges enterprise prices for what should be a commodity. Building your own FFmpeg pipeline means weeks of DevOps work and constant babysitting. Small teams and indie developers deserve video infrastructure that just works — without the five-figure monthly bills.

We built Transcodely because we needed it ourselves and couldn't find anything that was simple, fast, and affordable.

Built by a solo engineer

Transcodely is a one-person company. Every decision is deliberate, every feature ships because it matters, and you'll always talk to the person who wrote the code. No sales team, no layers of support — just good infrastructure and direct communication.
