Service Description

Transcodely provides a video transcoding API that converts video files between formats, codecs, and resolutions. The service is accessed via API and billed based on usage.

Account Terms

  • You must provide accurate account information
  • You are responsible for maintaining the security of your API keys
  • You must be at least 18 years old to use the service
  • One person or entity per account

Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the service to:

  • Process content that violates applicable laws
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, probe, or compromise our infrastructure
  • Resell the service without written permission
  • Exceed reasonable usage patterns that degrade service for others

Billing

Transcodely uses usage-based billing. You are charged per minute of output video at the rates published on our pricing page. Prices may change with 30 days notice. Usage is calculated at the end of each billing period and charged to your payment method on file.

You are not charged for failed jobs. Partial output from failed jobs is not billed.

Service Availability

We strive for high availability but do not offer a formal SLA at this time. The service is provided on a best-effort basis. We will communicate planned maintenance in advance when possible.

Your Content

You retain all rights to the video content you upload. We do not claim ownership of your content. We process your content solely to provide the transcoding service. Temporary copies are deleted within 24 hours of job completion.

Limitation of Liability

Transcodely is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. Our total liability is limited to the fees you have paid in the 12 months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.

Termination

Either party may terminate at any time. You can delete your account from the dashboard. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. Upon termination, your data will be deleted in accordance with our privacy policy.

Changes to Terms

We may update these terms with 30 days notice via email. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
